I was a doula and photographer for this amazing birth. Miss Evelyn’s mom went into early labour the day before her due date. It was quite a drive from their home to the hospital in Vancouver where they were delivering, so after an attempted induction the week before, and a few false alarms, they were anxious to get things going and meet their sweet baby girl!! 

I arrived at the hospital at about 4pm on her due date, once I got the news that they were staying at the hospital to be admitted so I knew where to meet them. Mama had already been having pretty regular contractions since the day before along with other signs of birth, and things were definitely getting intense by the time I arrived. 

"I remember I couldn’t actually rest for the hour before pushing because I was just so excited to finally meet you. It was like 1000 Christmas mornings all rolled into one. I have never been so excited for something in my entire life. So I spent that hour chatting and happy since it was the first time in a whole day that I hadn’t been in terrible pain."

She did an absolutely amazing job with her wonderful husband supporting her every step of the way. After 4 hours of pushing, miss Evelyn was born at 5:20am the next morning, 8lb 5.6oz. A beautiful birth. Happy Birthday Evelyn!
